This original vintage 1960s Mr Blackwell coat dress is a fantastic example of this well-known and revered designer to Hollywood stars during the 1950s and 1960s. Jayne Mansfield, Dorothy Lamour and Jane Russell were all clients of Richard Blackwell. His clothing was fabulously expensive and of the utmost quality. This versatile piece is no exception with sublime construction and great design details such as the extremely large black buttons used to fasten the front of the jacket. A longer linear style, this could be worn as a dress, jacket or even an overcoat. The design has wide lapels and ¾ length sleeves. The interior lining is pure silk in a gorgeous floral print. There are two front pockets and a half belt at the rear that fastens with a 4th large black button. The fabric and not stated on any label is a lightweight linen/silk blend that doesn't crease easily with a pleasing weight to it. In absolutely pristine vintage condition, no faults of any note and would best fit around a medium or UK 10-12, US 6-8.
